NEUROMODULATORS such as Botox
Do not overheat after Botox for 24 hours. Let the Botox kick in
and do not wear a baseball cap, hat or headband on forehead for 24 hours. Do
not lay down for 1 hour. Do not use a mechanical facial cleaner such as
Clarisonic for 24 hours.
ARNICA TABLETS & GEL
To prevent bruising and bleeding, take arnica tablets over the
counter in the first aid section of the pharmacy or online on Amazon for 72
hours prior to the procedure. Take 2 tablets under the tongue 4-5 x daily. This
is best for filler appointments. It helps with Botox too but less bruising
usually with Botox.
MEDS TO DISCONTINUE
Stop taking all blood thinning medications or supplements not
prescribed to you. Ex: ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, fish oils, multivitamins,
vitamin C, B vitamins – for 3 days prior to appointment.
FILLERS
Do not push, squish or mush. In general, do not touch it. It will
feel firm for about 1-2 weeks post placement and will soften up as collagen and
water develop over it for up to 6-8 weeks. Swelling is normal. You can use ice
10 min on about 3 x daily as needed, take ibuprofen or naproxen and sleep
upright partially for a night or too to allow swelling to decrease.
THREADS
You will feel pulling, “zingers” and poking from the thread for a
few weeks. This will subside as the thread dissolves starting at 2 weeks. It is
normal to have some mild swelling, bruising and discomfort initially. Ice,
Ibuprofen and naproxen and acetaminophen are all acceptable post procedure.
SPIDER VEIN THERAPY
Use compression stockings for 3 days afterward while upright.
While sleeping or with legs up, you do not need to wear them. Exercise can be
done after 24 hours if wearing compression
